How we approach cutting
Every cut starts with
understanding your hair.
Before we pick up a pair of scissors we take the time to understand your hair’s texture, growth patterns, fabric and what you want it to do. The cut is designed around that. Not the other way around.
We are a gender-neutral salon. Pricing is based on hair length and time required, not on gender.
Led by the best
Noel Halligan.
Multi-award-winning Creative Director.
Noel is the creative force behind every signature cut at NOCO. As Creative Director and co-founder, he has spent years designing cutting frameworks that solve real problems. Not just techniques that look impressive in the chair but fall apart at home.
His work has been recognised nationally across multiple award categories. He designed the Clifton Cut, the Vitality Cut, the Fusion Cut and the Cleo technique. Each one is a considered response to something he saw clients struggling with.
When you book a haircut at NOCO, you are booking into a system that has been thought through, tested and refined over years of real salon work.
The NOCO cutting philosophy
Built to work.
Not just to look good on the day.
Structured and consistent
Every cut is structured and consistent so it grows out evenly and stays right between visits. People do not need complicated. They need consistent and technical excellence. There is real brilliance in simplicity.
Low maintenance by design
Every signature cut is designed to be simple to manage at home. Whether your hair is curly, straight, wavy, fine or thick, the cut works with your texture rather than against it.
Complements colour
All four cuts work beautifully with colour. Balayage, highlights, toner, natural hair. The structure of the cut enhances the colour and the colour enhances the cut.
See it in action
The Vitality Cut.
Two lengths. Two textures.
This film shows the Vitality Cut being created on two different hair lengths and two different textures. The same framework, the same principles, two completely different results. A beautiful, effortless finish on both.
This is what a signature cut looks like in practice.
The Clifton Cut
The Clifton Cut maintains weight around the face while reducing weight around the crown. It is a clever, counterintuitive cut. By removing bulk at the top, the hair actually feels more voluminous. The external shape is protected while the crown lifts.
The result is a full, healthy style that practically takes care of itself. It reduces split ends, increases shine, and the layers stay together beautifully when you tie your hair back.
Versatile enough to be worn curly, wavy or straight, with or without a fringe, on any length that falls on or below the jawbone.
The Vitality Cut
The Vitality Cut is designed to frame your face while reducing weight around it, giving you more shine and volume where it matters most. The smooth surface of the layers makes hair appear sleeker and more vibrant. The result draws attention to your natural features.
Where the Clifton protects weight around the face, the Vitality releases it. Two different solutions, both beautifully considered. It particularly complements balayage and works brilliantly on bobs and fringes.
Behind the scenes
The making of
the Vitality Cut campaign.
This is the behind the scenes footage from the Vitality Cut photo shoot. The process, the people and the thinking that goes into creating something worth putting on film. This is what NOCO looks like when the cameras are rolling.
The Fusion Cut
The Fusion Cut is for anyone with longer hair who wants to keep their length but add real shape and movement. The idea behind it is in the name. You are fusing two things together to make one beautiful result. Layers and length, seamlessly connected.
Using disconnection in the cutting technique, the Fusion adds volume around the crown and blends the layers invisibly into the length below. The result does not look like two separate haircuts. It looks like one considered, flowing style.
There are no harsh lines. No obvious layering. Just shape, movement and length working together.
The Cleo Cut
The Cleo is more of a technique than a single look. It is a way of isolating different zones of the head and treating each one on its own terms. Starting with a horseshoe section, the hair is divided into five or six distinct areas, each one worked independently.
This makes it exceptional for problem solving. If the hair at the front is thinning, or a specific area has a different texture or fabric, the Cleo lets us address it directly without affecting the rest of the style. It can also be used creatively to build a genuinely bespoke cut.
The result is a haircut where every zone is resolved and the whole thing feels considered, balanced and uniquely yours.
A beautifully refined
men’s haircut.

Cut to shape, geometrically right for your head, your face and your hair type. It is not a lesser service. It is the same attention to detail, the same consultation, the same standard.
Whether you want something clean and classic, textured and modern, or something more considered and bespoke, we will find the right approach for you.

Common questions
Things people
actually ask us
What is the difference between the Clifton Cut and the Vitality Cut?
The Clifton maintains weight around the baseline while reducing weight at the crown. The Vitality starts introducing layers around the face, reducing weight there instead. Two different solutions depending on where your hair needs the most attention.
I have curly hair. Will these cuts suit me?
Yes. All four signature cuts are designed to work on curly, wavy and straight hair. The technique adapts to your texture. The framework stays the same.
Sometimes I wear my hair curly, sometimes straight. Will they still work?
Yes. Every signature cut is designed to be versatile. They are built to look right however you choose to wear your hair on any given day.
I am scared of layers. Will they make my hair look thin?
This is one of the most common concerns we hear and it is worth addressing properly. Split ends and broken hair around the crown that does not reach the baseline can drag the hair down, make colour look dull and expose the scalp. A lot of people already have unintentional layers through breakage. Our cuts make the layering intentional, considered and balanced. Layers is a broad word and it carries a lot of baggage from old haircuts. What we do is nothing like the Rachel from Friends. It is structured, precise and designed to make your hair feel better, not thinner.
Why should I choose a signature cut rather than a standard haircut?
Signature cuts are problem-solving frameworks, not just styles. They are named, documented and consistent. That means if you love your cut, you can come back and ask for it again by name and we will know exactly what was done. It removes the guesswork from every future visit.
Can every stylist in the salon do the signature cuts?
Yes. Every stylist at NOCO is trained to the highest level and the signature cuts are part of our core training programme. Whoever you book with, you are getting the same framework, the same standard and the same result.
I am not sure which cut would suit me best. How can I find out?
